On Google declaring war on the Web
On Google declaring war on the Web
In Yesterday’s IO Keynote Google declared war on the remnants of the Web. (See longer description on their website.) TL;DR: They are pushing Search more into the “here’s your processed answer” direction that “AI Overviews” have established (you know, those AI snippets in current Search that are wrong about 10% of the time). So they […]

Classic rock, Mario Kart, and why we can't agree on Tailwind - Josh Collinsworth blog

Anti-work
Anti-work
An obsession with work is a colonial, patriarchal, and capitalist construct. As such, the anti-work movement is an important part of decolonization, feminism, and anti-capitalism. Work is a tool of oppression By anti-work, I don’t mean that no one ever works. That’s preposterous of course. There are things that need to get done, and people need to do them. But this obsession with hard work as a virtue, as a good and righteous thing to do, the glorification of toil and sweat and labor… that’s a tool the wealthy who don’t work for a living use to oppress those who do.

The IndieWeb and Small web
The IndieWeb and Small web
As someone who values privacy and the open web, I’ve been fascinated by the growing movement away from centralised platforms toward more personal, user-controlled online experiences. What surprised me recently was discovering just how many people are embracing these concepts without even knowing their names. IndieWeb The IndieWeb is a community of people who own their websites and content rather than posting to third-party platforms (like Medium, Substack, etc). It’s built on principles like:
